Back-up Camera problem?
Just picked up my truck from the dealer. Had the rear-axle recall work done. I gave them a copy of the picture posted here and asked them to check the camera while they had it. They found nothing but sent info to Dodge. Will see how they reply.
Anyone else with this issue? Get it fixed yet?

They are color. My picture is perfectly clear during the day but I'm picking up some white horizontal lines at night. They float up and down the screen. It looks like some sort of signal interference to me.
Is there a sunlight sensor on the dash? I've seen some nav systems that automatically switch from daytime to nighttime mode based on that sensor. If the dodge system is the same setup maybe the issue you are seeing is how they are handling that even with the backup camera. You could shine a shining a bright flashlight on it to fool it into thinking it's daytime.
After seeing your pictures it made me realize I may have my camera in wrong or there is a slight tilt on the factory camera, I dont see the bumper like you do nor as far back but my driveway is not level so I am going to have to go give it a try somewhere else, If I put the ball in I can see it perfectly fine and well far enough behind but I am thinking maybe I have it in 90 degrees wrong or maybe 180 hmmmmm

I have the same exact issue described here - I had the dealer just install a OEM backup camera unit and only at night I get the same static/noise on the screen. It goes away if I leave it in reverse for a minute or two, but as soon as I shift out/back into reverse the lines are there.
Has anyone figured this out? Is it a bad camera, or a ground/connection issue?
