Default Hood Light.

So I went to the dealer today to get an oil change and I figured I would ask how much they would charge to install the light that goes under the hood of my truck. From what I know all there is to install is a light which just pops right in and a pigtail, well they wanted to charge me $55.00. I guess they haven’t heard that there’s a recession going on. And mind you the oil change was only $30. For those of you that have this light under you hood can you please show me a pic of where the pigtail needs to be installed. Please and thanks in advanced.

Looks pretty easy. Here are a few pics.

The light and the wire harness coming from it:

The connector in the back left corner under the strut (close up of above):

Another connector in the front left corner near the radiator. The wire coming from the right of the picture is from the connection in the picture above, running along the inner fender:

I've seen the light online at various places for as low as $11.95 new in box, but the wire loom seems to be a bit harder find...

Picked mine up at the dealership, it comes with the harness. Takes less than 5 minutes to install and it works without having anything flashed by the dealership.

The $50 was just for the install, not including light or harness.
