Q: For the Prodigy or P2 or P3, how BRIGHT are the displays especially at night in your various mounting solutions ??

I have a P3 on order that I'll install before driving crosscountry to pick-up my new Travel Trailer. I'd like to see the display without undue contortions (for safety). But I also don't want my nighttime driving vision ruined by an "overly proud" LED display lighting up the entire interior. (I picked the P3 in part because it has multiple display color choices - figuring Red should be most muted.) I do a good bit of nighttime driving on Vacation Roadtrips, times when the Brake Controller would be in use.

Thoughts ??

That's one of my concerns... Every electronics manufacturer, even those for products meant to operate in dark environments or where night vision is important, seems to be in a competition to prove how "proud" they are of their device by how bright it shines. In many vehicles you can see the occupants highlighted at night through even tinted windows - and that cannot be good for the driver's night vision.
I'm a little sensitive with minor nighttime glare problems, such that I'm a bit bothered by the EVIC that doesn't dim well with the rest of the dash.
So, I'm hoping some posters have feedback on whether their installed Prodigy or P3 tends to light-up their cab or worse their face during night driving...

Its not that bright. If its in the chubby, unless you look for it it dosen't just drag your eyes to it. In the dark I don't look for it. If I need to adjust or manualy throw the trailer brakes I do it all by feel if driving.

Depending on how tall you are you won't be able to see it at all in that pocket. Can't believe they put the factory controller in that location - especially since they have the space where that big ram logo is under the HVAC system. The Ford Tow Command is the only factory system that I would consider - the Chevy and Ram systems are in a pretty poor spot.

If we had the money our trucks would not have that big RAM emblem on the bezel it would have power seat switches for sure and not sure what else.

Whole lot of work. I just cut the back out of mine.Shoved it in. It sticks out just far enough to work the manual brake control. I can also just wiggle firmly and pull mine out, unplug it put it away if needed. It wedges in so tight there is no need for strap metal brackets. When controller removed the chubby looks stock. If you get eye level with it there is no back. Once in a blue moon I touch with my knee getting in. His install is great I just didn't see any need to do all that.

That is awesome, how about i have the parts sent to you and you install them into my new bezel and send it to me done and all I have to do is install it. LOL That looks great and looks like no banging your knees or becoming obsolete. I like it I like it alot and looks like something I can do I think I could use the bezel that is there now just cut out the back?
