TPMS & Rim Size Question
Has anyone disabled their TPMS? Sounds like a pain having to switch the stems to new rims. I was thinking about disabling it if it is even possible.
I am looking at buying some aftermarket chrome rims and I am not sure whether to go with 20s or 22s. I was told that the ride quality would decline with 22s. I like the look of the 22s with the smaller profile tires, but was also told that I will not get as many miles out the tires compared to what I would get with 20s.
Any ideas??

I purchased a new set of TPMS for my SRT10 Replica 22's. When I switch back to my stock 20's in the winter I don't have to worry about transferring the TPMS. Superchips now has a TPMS disable option on their tuners, so TPMS can be disabled that way. If you do not have a tuner, it may be cheaper just to buy an extra set of TPMS. I think I paid $200 CDN for a set of four from my dealer. The ride with my 305/45/22 Nitto NT420S tires on the 22's is just slightly harsher than the stock but after about a day or two of driving, I don't even notice it. Also, there is no reason to get less mileage out of 22" tires unless you go with some really cheap brand. I expect my Nittos to outlast the factory Goodyears.

Also, I went to Discount Tire and they swapped out the TPMS to the new wheels. I have had some issues with that though as my warning light now comes on everytime I am in the truck. I think they just need to reset the system....will be taking it back shortly for them to fix.
In reference to the TPMS sensors, they're not that expensive and any place that sells tires probably has them. They will install them when they mount and balance the tires. That would be my suggestion. Otherwise if you don't have a tuner, you're gonna hear the chimes every time you start your truck. I'd rather pay a little extra and have a working TPMS system.
