I'd lean more toward a Bakflip....... after doing a LOT of research, it seems the best option for what you want (hard tri fold)

My biggest problem, right now, is deciding between a color matched hard cover (looks, security and weathertightness,) and a Bakflip F-1 (flexibility, compact size, removability&storeability, reasonably secure, and ease of use.)

Frankly, the Bakflip is currently in the lead.......... but I an't decided yet!

i am actually going with the xtang. it seems to be way more available at my local offroad stores than the backflip hd which was my 2nd choice. i called 4 local offroad stores today in the pittsburgh area and they all carry the xtang. looks almost identical to the backflip without the need to mount those 2 extra side rails.

If you are talking about the Trifecta, you might be disappointed in the fit - because it is not shaped the same as your bed. I know, I am!

Yeah, so did I. Yesterday, I ordered the Bakflip F-1 from my local dealer. Strangely, he had the best price...... Go figure.

NO JOY! I went to pick up my cover, and installed it myself, as they weren't going to be able to get to it for a few hours.

After getting everything mounted, and finally putting the cover in place ---- SURPRISE !!!

They sent me a HD cover, in an F-1 Box.

Yes, the box was sealed, and stapled.

Now, another one (hopefully, the correct one) is supposed to be here Monday.

Then, another drive back to the dealer !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with the previous poster - their instructions are sorely lacking, and I'm a good mechanic........

And, I already removed my Extange Trifecta, and am waiting for the buyer to pick it up tonite............

Things just don't always work out the way they are supposed to.

well for what its worth i ended up buying and installing a bakflip HD. i can tell you i definately would not have been happy with the regular bakflip. the weight of the HD is about what i would have expected out of the regular one. the cover fits perfectly between the plastic covered tops of the bed side rails and the length could not have been better. only problem i see is that in 5 years all of that exposed rubber on the exterior of it will probably need to be replaced. as for water intrusion, we'll see what happens next time it rains. its definately not going to be as water tight as my avalanche bed cover but if it keeps the bed he mostly dry i'll be pretty happy with it. the fit and finish of it is awesome. got the cover for $829.
