resonator question
Which ones, the resonators? They're welded on, so you'll need a pipe cutter or a cutting torch. Then you have to weld pipe back in their place. Unless you've got the tools just laying around, save yourself some headache and take it to a muffler shop. $20 and 30 minutes and it'll be done.
As for the muffler, it unbolts and can be replaced. Don't try the aftermarket ones that just bolt on though, they're crappy and will do nothing but leak and rattle. Trust me on that one, a bunch of us on here have been screwed by that one.

Ok, so I cut out my resonators tonight. I measured the pipe and it is 2.25 outside diameter, so 2.50 inch should slip over that pipe. Well I went to the local autozone and looked at there pipe. I took one that was 2.25" and slid a pipe that was 2.5". It seemed to me that it was pretty sloppy. For you guys that did your yourself, how did you go about doing yours.
Thanks again for all the advice. I did go to a local muffler shop, and he put a new pipe in and welded it all it also. It looks great. the cost was around 125 but it was a great job and I am very happy with it.
the way i understand it the resonator is a more straight through design then the muffler it dampens the noise but not as well as the muffler but wouldnt the resonator be a less restrictive alternative to the muffler. my veiw is if you are doing it for the performance aspect why not get rid of the muffler and just keep the resonator... it may be louder but a cheaper alternative to after market cat backs... they also make resonated exhaust tips which i would like to see matched with a setup like this.. i wander how the sound a performance would be.
