Default Drive line dropped

Just got off the highway and the driveline fell off the rear axle! It looks like the nut inside came loose! The truck is 2009 ram slt crew cab 4x4 with only 40000kms which is 25000 miles! No problems regular maintenance done! Anybody out there with the same problem!!

Hope that never happens to my 09, sorry about your bad luck. My 09 just turned 75,000 miles a week ago.

Bet the pinion nut. Drive Shaft came loose. New drive shaft and new rear differential parts. Nut either no thread lock or not torqued correctly. Been a few posts of such over the last year.

Have you ever paid for their "Peace of Mind" gimmick where you pay 79 bucks for oil change and they rotate tires and check all your brakes and several other points, surprised they would not find a loose drive shaft. Every other oil change they want me to spend over a hundred bucks on whatever BS and I only have 18000 KMs which is barely 10000 miles, all I should need is an oil change and a fluid check and maybe check for leaks while they are under there.

Hope it happens to me, good time to get them to put a posi and 392 gears. I will pay the extra but of course I bet they will only be able to replace exactly the same part I tried to get the cheaper painted aluminum wheels instead of new chrome clads when they replaced them due to corrosion but they wouldn't, had to be what was there. A guy can dream, better get under there and check the torque on that nut what is it supposed to be?

A lube fellow is not going to wiggle/wobble your drive shaft unless its blatantly obvious. At low mileage a tech isn't going to either unless you mention an issue of some sort. Something obvious leaking or wet they usually will see and report. Put yourself in their job. Its a wrench, not a magic wand.
