Might want to crawl under it and rotate the driveshaft back and forth to see how much play is in it. If there is a lot of play then check the pinion nut and see if the pinion seems to be moving fore and aft

yup, sounds like u-joints or a pinion nut came loose...better check it out real soon..!
As others said, crawl under and see if you can move the driveshaft while shifter in neutral, make sure you block the wheels or use park brake before you crawl under it.

Won' be a u/joint. Either pinion nut or too much clearance between ring and pinion.

the truck has very little miles on it. and if he as hounding it like most do. the ujoint is probably got play. im sure that the pinion lash isnt off not from the factory. but if so i would be getting a new truck because that means its going to be a lemon.

Are you saying the OP ought to trade trucks? That would cost him thousands of dollars. Its under warranty is it not? Dodge sure isn't going to swap him out for new one with it costing thousand of dollars when its under warranty.

Thats why they give a warranty. I tell you this. Warranty claims on most new vehicles today are a fraction of what they were 20 years back. They are built better and get more miles put on them than ever before. Maybe its nothing hard to find or repair.
