There ain't no need to come all the way down here. I'd post the question in the 3rd Gen section ( & maybe even 2nd Gen) to the effect of " who in the ***** area has had aftermarket gears installed, who did you use, what did you pay and how happy are you with their work".
The 3rd Gens have been around a lot longer and percentage wise, a LOT more guys have had gear swaps done. Are a LOT of 3rd Gen members who've had this done and I'm sure you'll find a few in your general area...

I will keep hunting. The local truck stuff referred me to a shop across the street. But thats one of the dudes that acted like i was crazy to go to 4.10. So im cautious on using him, even though he said hes done hundreds of rear ends. Kind of wierd, Wichita has more restaraunts per capita then any other city, one on every corner, yet hardly any shops that can do a gear swap. Go figure

It's most likely that he referred you to the shop across the street because they feed off of each others buisiness, lol! I have a 3.92 LSD and with my old 30.5" tall tires I wasn't satisfied and wanted a set of 4.10's. My new tires are 31.5" tall and I can feel the difference even with that little bit of change. It's a little slower of the line now so I "really bad" want the 4.10's or even 4.30's, but I'll have to live with them for now Originally Posted by maxbob82

I'm getting the 4.56's put in my truck next week! Rolling on 37's. Once I pay off this balance for this go-round of mods, I will then be getting the EDGE Torque Converter. Looking forward to adding power back!

I don't know how far it is from you, but there is a 4 Wheel Parts in Oklahoma City. If you deal with them I have one word of advice, deal with them like you would a car dealer. They try to get retail for everything and upper end of the scale for their labor.Originally Posted by maxbob82

I have a buddy who got a quote from them (not OKC but Jacksonville location) for almost $3000 for gears (4x4) and a LSD. He showed me the quote and I pointed out that my local guy would do the same job for around $1800 if he wanted to drive 3 hours away. He ended up getting 4 Wheel Parts to price match what Moe's Performance sold the parts for and then got them to knock $300 off the install price and ended up coming in at just over $2000 after tax. So they will "deal". They did a superb job and only charged him $30 for the fluids and RTV on his 500 mile break in check.
