Default Bought my first Dodge. Couple Questions.

How goes it!? Owned Toyotas my whole life but bought a 2009 Ram XLT Hemi last week. Love it!

Couple Questions

1. Do you reccommend getting after market intake? If so, what Brand?

2. Exhaust?

I guess I'm more concerned with a little help on MPG and a little HP or Initial response wouldn't hurt.

3. Any tips/Advice?

Gears for initial response you probably have 355's
Intake you mean a CAI? Personally find them a waste of money and the computer says more air okay you need more gas that is my personal experience with it on a 2003 Durango and a 2000 Dakota but others swear by them. I guess if you use a tuner after the changes then it might be worth it but add it all up then see how long to get your money back and how long you think you will keep the truck. Glad to see you cross over, what made you come?

Thanks for the Quick response.

Yeah, CAI means Cold Air Intake?

I put K&N with Flowmaster on my runner because it was so gutless....any help was needed.

I was tired of how small the Cabs were, gutless the motors are....

I bought a house a couple years ago and after working on the house I knew I needed a Truck. After reading/looking around I really liked the newer Didge Trucks. So far I love the thing.

As far as Cold Air Intakes I would recommend AFE, K&N, or Mopar. I know that a Mopar brand intake does not effect your Warranty in any way.

For exhaust a lot of guys go with the Mufflex Kits. I am going to getting one myself when the funds are in hand for one. Mufflex uses Magnaflow mufflers and it is basically a bolt on replacement for the stock muffler and tailpipe on the single or dual exhaust setups. You can get them in various sizes. 14 is the most aggressive sounding, 18 is moderate, and 24 is mellow. http://www.mufflex-performance.com/brochure.html

My buddy put a K&N on his 09 Sport with the Magnaflow cat-back and loves it. He also bought the Bullydog, so he'll see the performance/MPG difference. I like the Magnaflow for the nice rumble but little to no drone. I may go with a CAI in the future but have the drop in for now. The Mopar CAI is good looking but to expensive. I don't really think these machines benefit from them that much. There is plenty of HP under the hood and you won't be dissapointed.

For what you are after - leave it stock!

I went volant cai and magnaflow exhaust love it. Love the truck, smokes my 04 f-150 for sure as far as ummm everything. Off topic just a hair, what do you guys think of volant filters themselfs. 100,000 miles seems a little far fetched to me, was gonna change at 60k.

Not alot of difference with the 24 compared to stock if you leave the resonators in place
