You're right new, you can weld the Mufflex on, but you'd be spending a lot of money for the muffler and then more money to weld it on. Mufflex isn't a special muffler, it's just a Magnaflow with the connection bits already added. You can get the exact same muffler, and the same connections fabricated at a local shop for a hellva lot less than Mufflex's prices. Oh, and did I mention that their customer service stinks? I ordered mine and it took just a couple of days short of a month getting here. I contacted them multiple times, and each time they assured me the order would be out the door at the end of the day. 25 or so odd days later it finally showed up.

which muffler did you order, the 24, 18, 14?

Like war said your better off welding it on! Save your self some $$. When you get it welded on let us know what you think. I love my magnaflow

 

Got the 18 ordered, with my cai should be plenty loud. Had 14 on my last truck and loved the sound.

 

Put my muffler on today, not as loud as i would have liked. If i had my time back would have went with the 14 inch. Also the 2.5 dual out was the wrong size, made it work but 3" in and 2.25 out is the right size for this truck

 

Sorry for getting this to you late. My 08 sport is 3" in 2.25" out. If you already have the 2.5 take it to any exhaust shop and they can't flair you tailpipes to fit then weld them in.

 

Got it done thanks, seems to be gettin a little louder everyday. Love the rumble from it, no drone and cant really notice to much when mds kicks in....very happy with it

 

If you want it a little louder cut out the resonators and weld in straight pipe, about a foot per side is all you need

 

The Magnaflows seem to get a bit louder after a few weeks of run time. I guess it takes a bit of time for the packing to settle in.
