Question Chip for my '09 Ram

I am interested in chipping my '09 Ram, but not sure what to get or where to start. I'm pretty new to this so any help will do. I got the 5.7 Hemi. Pretty much stock, just an Air aid Cold air intake and throttle spacer. I'm interested in a chip that has options. Obvious the increase in power, but also an option for higher gas mileage. Its my daily driver so both will benefit me. Something fairly user friendly as well would be nice. Once again any help will do. Thanks in advance.

My personal opinion is go with superchips, I ran diablo before but had nothing but problems with my truck as well as another ford (changed the computer twice on a harley davidson f250). I since then got superchips and its simple and works better, truck shifts smoother and also has fuel saver tune and tow tune (what sold me). But this was my personal experience and hopefully it can help you

Most of us have used pcm programmers, they are not chips. Your best bet is to do a search for Superchips, Diablo and Bullydog ( there are more but these seem to get good reviews now ) and research which would be best for what you are looking for . These seem to be most popular for canned tunes with the Diablo allowing you do load a custom tune or do some data logging and I believe I saw one post has contact info to send the logs to a guy that can make some tweaks specific to your tune ( air/fuel mix etc.. ).

I think the Superchips with the optional trans update, works good with this truck. You can build a mellow or aggressive shift schedule ( start with one of the posted schedules from other forum members ) but the best feature I found is you can control the shift points so the truck does not dump into a high gear while you are still going say 30 mph. That, combined with this MDS disable and the 3.92 gears have made for the best performing, almost stock 4x4 1/2 ton sport truck I have owned to date. Been averaging 17.9-18.4 mpg in the hot weather with mildly agressive daily mixed driving.

Never had an issue with any of My Diablosport Predators on different trucks.
I would ditch the TB spacer. Paperweights that usually just cause a whistle.

Diablosport or Superchips is what you are looking for with a gas engine.

I am happy with my SC, it has lots of options and I have never had any problems with it.....except keeping my foot out of the 93 tune. The Towing mode really impressed me when I tried it out this summer. As mentioned, the transmission tuning is nice but the TM control (removal) makes a significant improvement as well.
