Default 2011 Ram LSD/Locker

I have a 2011 Ram 1500 4x4 with a 3.55 open rear diff. I was told that no aftermarket LSD/lockers exist for the 2011, because Dodge made changes to the rear axle. Does anyone know if this is true or not? I contacted Eaton/Detroit to verify this fact, or rumor. I am hoping to have an LSD or locker installed by winter.

The 2011 uses a new ZF built rearend vs the 2010 back with the AAM built assemblies.

I contacted a local Dodge dealer and was quoted $1000 for parts and labor for installing a factory LSD in my 3.55 rear diff. I was expecting a higher price from a dealer, but with Dodge changing the rear axle manufacturer, I'm out of choices. Does this seem reasonable?

If it works like the Mopar LSDs used in the 2nd & 3rd Gens it ain't worth having it put in there if it was half that money...

It's funny, GM started using the AAM axles in '09 in their 2500 trucks and in '10 in their 1500s, figured it'd give some credibility to the things and maybe there would be some decent support for selectable lockers and such. So what does Dodge do? Switches to an even lesser known brand of axles...

ZF usually builds a good manual transmission. Ford SuperDuty trucks have used them for years. I don't know how long they have been building differentials.

They also build the porsche, bmw, chevy silverado hd, hyundai genesis, jaguar, range rover, maseratti etc etc etc trannys...

There are a couple of european race series that mandate zf diffs so they cannot be horrible.
