1500 Outter Tierod Recall
I had the knocking front end as well. Like something was loose under there. They also told me Tie rod. But i had to pay for the alignment. Do I get a refund on that now? Hmmm?
Seems silly to have to get another new one now. Will they replace both even though one has only 5,000 miles on it?

Ya, I had the levelling kit installed. Didn't seem to be an issue with the dealership here. The roads are pretty rough around town here, I think they have alot of trucks coming in for replacements so they don't bother blaming it on the levelling kit. In my opinion if you build a part that has moving parts inside of it, and if it gets water in it, it will fail...wouldn't you want to put a grease nipple on there to keep it greased up and moisture free? Something really needs to be done about these vehicle manufacturers putting these sh*tty parts on trucks, and sell them for $50k.

Ramulak, I would hope they have the part numbers of the pieces they installed on your truck, if so they can see if the ones installed were the redesign or not.
If this recall is for the same reason as the 2500/3500 the problem is the threaded part of the ball joint, that goes into the spindle, sheering off or stretching, I don't think its anything to do with water getting into the joint and causing it to be fail.

An 09 2500 is a 3rd gen, so no suprise that its not on the list
