Models
IMPORTANT: Some of the involved vehicles may be in dealer vehicle inventory. Dealers should complete this repair on these vehicles before retail delivery. Dealers should also perform this repair on vehicles in for service. Involved vehicles can be determined by using the VIP inquiry process.

Isn;t that great. Ahhh no big deal just tie rods you can wait two weeks. Just hold on real tight to the wheel. LOL!
My guy said "no problem make an appointment". So I said "how about Friday?" He said no. "We like to make it Thursday in case there is a problem." Problem?
What kind of problem do you intend to have that will take two days for a one to two hour job? Yikes.
Anyway I go in Friday for Bed caps and tie rods.....
Three months later and still no authorization from Dudge on my Chrome Steps being covered under warranty.
I mean really....And they want me to buy another Ram?

With tre's it would be just incase they spin one in the taper and have to replace the knuckle.
Yes they do. I asked if Dodge was paying to have it alligned again, because my dealer sends them out to be alligned, and he said Dodge will pay.
I happen to have a leveling kit sitting on the shelf. With my luck, I'll install it and then they'll deny the repair work or something stupid like that. I may put it in and see what happens.
Talked to my Dealership this morning. They are getting a pile of Tierod ends in next Monday, and I am booked to have the recall done next Friday.
My concern is, are they just putting in new ends that are the same as the ones they are taking out? If so, why not wait until your current ones start to fail, as recalls go the life of the vehicle, and are always free?
Or does it not work that way, and the Dealership has to do it the next time they have the vehicle there?

Not sure about Dodge but I took an 11 year old Jimmy to a GM dealer for repairs once and they swapped out the rear seatbelts on a recall. We were the third owner and knew nothing about the recall until we picked it up after the work was done.
Anyway, I'm booked in to have my tie rods changed next week. I have less than 20k on my '09 so it seem kinda pointless but what the heck, git'er done as they say.

Gutty,
Dodge will not put in the same bad part as they take out. They replace the defective part with a part that no longer has the flaw that caused the recall in the first place. The problem with waiting until the recalled part fails is that it is a safety issue, otherwise they would have not recalled the part.
My suggestion to anyone who receives a recall notice of any kind is to contact your dealer and get it taken care of as soon as reasonably possible to prevent any failure that may occur. Sometimes with a recall on a popular model, a delay in getting the part to the dealers happens for any number of reasons including the sudden flood of part orders in anticipation of customers coming in even before customers make appointments.
I apologize for the inconvenience this puts everyone through but hope that if you get a recall notice you contact the dealer to have the work done and not wait until the part fails before doing so.
