1500 Outter Tierod Recall
Rob
I got my recall notice a few days ago and have an appointment for next Tuesday. Supposed to take 1.5 hrs. I asked the service mgr if the recall includes an alignment, and he said all they do is check/correct the toe, as that's the only thing affected by this repair. Is this sufficient, or should they be doing a full alignment?
dropped my truck off at 7:30 am today they said 2-3 hours for the Tie Rod Recall and it's 3:00pm, just called the dealer and they said possibly won't be ready till tomorrow...what can be taking so long to replace the tie rods? I did them on my old Ranger I had and it took 3 hours....
Had mine replaced Tuesday. Truck is going back tomorrow for a full alignment. The dealer said they set the toe, but the truck now pulls to the left and the steering wheel is slightly off center. It drove fine prior to the replacement.....
Its actually funny that I bought my 2009 Ram 5 months ago with about 20,000 miles on it and after having it a few months it felt like something was not right up front. I brought it to the dealer and they told me everything was fine. Well it seemed to get worse over the last couple of months and then this recall came out covering all models except mine. I called a few weeks ago to bring it in again because it was like my whole front end would shake when I kit a bump or went over RR tracks and I almost felt like I had little control when this happened. They brought it in and told me the rod ends needed to be replaced and they would call me when the parts came in. I called early this week to see if they were in yet and they informed me about the recall that came out that day that expanded including the rod ends on my truck. They had no idea when the part would eb in becasue of the recall but low and behold I got a call Tuesday that is was in and they are replacing the part today. I am really hoping that this fixes the problem and is not something they did just becasue the recall was out there.
Well, did it fix that problem?
