Default Auto dimming mirrors??

I dont know about any of you, but I hate that everytime I start my truck the Auto dimming mirrors turn on. I have a hard enough time seeing traffic and what not when they dont dim...

Does anyone know if this can be flashed so that it only comes on when i push the button on the rear view mirror? Or maybe this is an EVIC option??

I believe the button on the mirror is the on/off button for the auto-dim feature. Check your manual for instructions.

I use the button to turn it on/off, but every time I shut the truck off and then back on, its always in the on position. I just want to keep it off until I decide that I want it on, instead of vice versa

Maybe try posting a thread in the classifieds to swap with someone for a non dimming mirror? I don't see how you are going to program an electrical switch. Only things like PLCs can do that and you are a long ways from that.

Mine always turns on too. I don't know if a dealer can change that with a Starscan tool or not. Kinda pointless to always turn on, since I have factory tinted rear windows. It only dims if I have the slider open at night.

Just unplug the wire at the mirror. Mine was unplugged when I had a tint strip put on my windshield and I didn't notice any problems with the truck.
