I don't know what you are used to driving but these brakes are great for the size and weight of the truck including when loaded down, didn't even realize the load 1700 lbs of cement bags. You must be getting out of 2011 Corvettes or something then getting in the truck? Or you drive a transport with air brakes. I am really confused at this comment and realize why now there was not a lot of comment.
I've driven European: Ford Galaxy, Vauxhall Vectra, VW Passat, Volvo V40, Renault Laguna, Vauxhall Vectra, Mitsubishi Pajero (1995) of which I base my poor brake judgement on. Since then I've driven new Ford Galaxy's. Also at work I drive a Land Rover Defender.
I think the brakes work fine but they are crap quality. My truck has 14k on it and the miles are about 80% highway and yet my brakes squeel with consistency. The dealer told me that they are probably just glazed and to basically live with it. The brakes on my 06 Dakota which were rear drum and front rotors went 55k without any kind of squeeling before they wore out and I replaced them.
