Recall: For 1500 4x4 tie-rods...??? WHAT..???
Tierod can't cause cupping. Balljoint, wheel bearings, shocks or a-arm bushings. My dealer did a full alignment when they replaced the tierod ends.
Mine did a full alignment too. They told me it was HIGHLY recommended I do it after replacing the tie tod ends. They didn't think they should pay for it at first, but had no issue with it at all when I pointed out that replacing the tie rod ends what Chryslers idea, not mine, and since they are so highly recommending of it, they will be required to pay for it.
My wife and I are good customers there. Bought both my RAM and her GC there, get all are service work done there, etc. I think they knew there was a bigger picture then fighting me on this.

Well yeah the toe is what is gonna make you pull one way or the other...
My dealer charged me for the camber but not the toe. I told them how trivial they were being and that I had bought 7 trucks there. The service manager refunded my money after I talked with the dealership manager. I suggest everyone do the same if you get charged for anything related to the tie rod replacement. Not our fault shouldn't be our money.
And yes it will cause the tires to cup. Mine did at 22,0000 miles. Dealer said it was because of the tie rod going bad. Mine had an audible clunk to it.
Got new tires and new tie rods...no cupping in 30,000 miles since the rods were replaced.

First off my dealership has been 5* tenfold above and beyond. Went in for tie rod check and seat cushing repair a couple of weeks ago with 34k miles. Long story short, recently the slynoid pack went out so they changed the clutches and converter as well as added measure even though I know they were still good. They even gave me a rental for a week while waitng on parts and repair when they didn' t have to. Back to the tie rods (there is no tie rod recall for my truck) and seat cushing, they are repairng the seat cushing but not the tie rod ends. They said my truck does not have tie rod ends, I'm like what ......??? My steering feels loose and jerks to the right when I hit a bump in the road and they agreed after driving it. So they are going to change my rack & pinion steering assembly. The parts came in but I haven't had the time to go in and do the repairs yet. I didn't want to argue with them, hell they're changing my whole steering and they have done so much else already! Do I have tie rod ends and what about the alignment...will I need one? I forgot to ask them about that though I feel obligated to pay for one if they say so.

When you get this tie rod service, make sure they do the alignment USING the NEW specs noted in the TSB bulletin. If they set the alignment back to the stock settings, it will be incorrect. I had another thread that detailed this service as my truck was aligned 3 times before the right specs were used.
My dealer printed a copy of the bulletin to keep with my owner manual to ensure whatever tire shop does my future alignments has the updated specs....

Does anyone have the TSB on a ".pdf" file that hey can post in here for the tie-rod recall and spec`s...?
I`ve been to 3 stealership`s and they will not give it out to the customer.
Reason they wont, makes it easier to catch them in a lie.
