Battery dead
same symptoms in my '09 just not as sporadic. replaced the battery about a month ago. it would charge and hold about 12.5 volts then go down to about 11 volts after an hour or two.
no problems after replacement.

My 2008 needed battery replacement last spring, being only 3yrs old and having 9500miles. If a battery has low charge and oxidiation occurs on the plates, there is less charge retained after that and eventually kill cells.
If I dont start my truck up every 3weeks, the battery will be dead by 4th week. I have nothing unusual as far as current draw goes for a newer electronically controlled vehicle.
One last thing, if your battery sensor is bad, it'll not allow your battery to charge at a high rate. There is a sensor that limits charge rate based on temperature. Not sure if a bad sensor would illuminate any warning or battery lights??
I replaced it with Advance Auto Gold. Quicker starts at the 3week mark compared to the Mopar one. I left a trickle charger on it this past winter as well.

Had the same incident.Dead battery one morning.Boosted battery,started truck.Checked voltage while running,had 14.3 volts,normal alternator output,let it run for appx.20 minutes.Truck set for two hours,checked battery voltage,had roughly 9.5 volts.Replaced battery from Autozone,worked great ever since.A dead cell probably.....
If you suspect your battery get a volt meter if you have one, measure the voltage across the terminals with the engine off. A good battery will read 12 volts or slightly higher, a battery that is starting to go bad or in trouble will read lower than 12 volts usually around 11 volts, a battery with one dead cell will read 10 volts, if it is 10 volts or close to 10 volts, get a new battery. 2 volts per cell. This is a general guide line.
If you do a lot of short trips with much of your accessories running, (air, lights and whatever) the battery may never fully recharge and this will stress the battery causing early failure.

I'm experiencing the same thing now. I was out of town for a week - came home to a dead battery. Jumped it, seemed fine - went out this morning, dead again. I haven't done anything different - internal lights or other hookups. Has anyone figured out a cause? Did a new battery fix this for everyone? Will the dealership give me a new battery?! My truck isn't even 3 years old - stock battery. Thoughts??
put a voltmeter on the battery 10 min after running, it should be 12.5 and higher. if it is 12.2 or lower, expect to buy a battery soon. then start the truck and it should read at least 14v. if not, the truck is not charging.
'09 Hemi....Still has the original battery and been through 4 NH winters. Still going strong.....Knock wood.....But I will probably get a new one anyway before this coming winter. Kinda like playing the lottery. Only backwards I guess.
