Question Power Seats: 2009=2010=2011??????

I'm looking to find some used power seats for my 2009 RAM 1500 (have the cheapie cloth seats now)

Will 2010 and/or 2011 seats fit and connect up to my 2009?

Want to have more chance of finding seats at a junkyard if I can say 2009-10-11.

Seats appear to be fairly easy to install - any gotchas I need to watch out for?

Usually the yards can tell you if it will work. There was one guy on another site that did the swap and said there were no issues. I would think as long as you verify the connectors you have under the seat look the same as the one u purchase it would work. The bolts for the seats should be the same.

I am looking into the same thing. I have an 09' SLT and found 10' leather seats. Not sure if the passenger seat from the junk yard is power or not, but does anyone know if my truck will have a plug, even though my cloth passenger seat is manual?
Also how do the heated elements hook-up? if its even possible.

I just installed heated/cooled/memory leather seats in my 2010 SLT Sport x cab. The seats are from a 2011, I got a good deal on them thru ebay. I originally had the sport buckets with drivers power, passenger manual, no heat or cooling. I used a 2009 wiring diagram that I found on the internet. All the wiring was there, including for the passenger power. The heated/cooled seats worked after I bought the lower switch bank for the dash, with the exception of the leds that tell you when they are on. I am building a circuit to drive leds in the dash when the heated/cooled functions are on. The memory function does not work, I think because it needs to communicate with the cluster on the data bus. The cluster needs to tell the memory module the truck is in park to permit it to function. In my free time I plan on getting into the memory module to try to trick it into thinking it is in park. At any rate, it seems that 2009,2010, and 2011 all seem to be nearly identical as far as wiring and compatibility goes.

Did you have memory seats before? Cause I do not have that option in my sport, was told it was only available in the Laramies and Laramie longhorns? I know yours is a 2010, but my 11 does not have that option. In which case if you didn't, you will have to get the module to get it to work...I do believe everything is done through a transmitter within the computer. Because the memory function does not just do the seats, it would also control the mirrors, AC unit, power pedal location. It would also be controlled by your key fob. So my guess is there is something more to it then just hooking the seats up. I would not re-configure wiring until you figure that out for sure. IMHO

The memory module and heated seat module are located under the drivers seat. They came with the new seats. Both modules 'talk' the the cluster (which is the body computer) thru the class 2 data bus. I am aware that the memory module controls other things such as the mirrors, etc. The reconfiguring I was referring to is inside the memory module. I am an electronic tech. The circuits are proprietary, but many times the integrated circuits used are not.

Bigtone -
thanks for the good news

I don't intend to bother about the heat/cooling: too much trouble to get into dash to add switches

btw - is it possible that the dealer will need to "flash" the truck for the seat memory to work for you??

I have the cloth seats, and I see 3 plugs underneath the drivers seat so I assume that is all the connections for power seats
