You will love that truck - the mineral grey is a really sweet color, and the CC is a luxury SUV....

Congrats on your choice.

Now we need to see some pics............

So for anyone who has been following this thread I have been flip flopping like crazy. I am now back to my original thinking and going with a 4x4. For some reason I feel I am buying a truck that is going to stay with me for a very long time! I would rather have it then not.

So here is the newest one on the shopping list:
2011 Ram 1500 4x4 CC Big Horn; 5.7, LSD 3.92 gears, trailer brake control. Saddle Brown clear coat.

Patience is the key for me. I have been working the dealers hard and hopefully it will pay off! That 10,000 off MSRP is making it a bit fun!

Default Finally!!

Hooray, I have Finally pulled the trigger. I really wore out the dealer but it was worth it in the end. I ended up going with the 2 wheel drive after all was said and done. There was a lot of debating and desicion making so I feel like I made the absolute right choice. What an UNBELIEVABLY AWESOME truck!

i didnt bother reading a single reply, because I'm sure theres defication all over this thread. hahaha

bottom line,
-how often do you get stuck in your 2wd? thats what lead me to a 4x4.
-how often do you drive in the snow, or lose control, get stuck in the snow?
-how often is your truck actually going to make it off road?

do you NEED 4x4? or do you WANT 4x4? do your pockets allow for you to buy it

Looks good and it should work well for you. Might want to spend the $100 or so on a set of front tow hooks, just in case you ever need them. Its an easy install.

Had a Silverado 2500 with locking rear and new tires every couple years. Loved that truck ! BUT it was scary in 2WD and wouldn't move from my driveway until I put it in 4WD when it snowed ( we're on a hill) yet the rear end would slide toward my GF's car.

My Dodge is worse yet better ! How ? Well Locking rearends are great at times, but makes the rearend live (moves side to side) where one wheel peel trucks stay still (literally ! haha)

I'd get 4WD for the peace of mind. Full size trucks with big motors can get stuck on the silliest things. Switch to 4WD, get out, switch back and smile with your decision. 2WD is like taking a Mustang in the woods

My 02.

Mods? I think after all the motorcycles and trying to mod the Dakota, the wife might hit a breaking point!

So what mods anyways?

I've read there are some problems getting aftermarket parts for the new Rams but, depending on your preference, there are some mods that are available. You could go with a deflector on the front and maybe some vent visors. I went with the in-channel and don't really recommend them. For me it was looks but they can be a pain to stay afixed. Maybe CAI and exaust or something simple like a stubby antenna or debadge. Some weathertech mats is a good investment. I've been looking at HIDS as I've recently installed Silverstars and didn't find much difference. The trucks I've seen on here are a testament to how much fun you can have with these trucks. Yours is pretty well equipped but there's always something to customize.
