The oil filter is easy to reach. I use a plastic cup that is slightly larger in diameter and longer than the filter. I spin the filter off and leave it fall and drain into the cup and everything stays clean. I also use rubber gloves to keep the heat and oil off my hands along with a pair of safety glasses.

I slide under the truck feet first from the front and sit up inside the bumper area and reach in with no problems. The bag trick is amazing! one extra use for wal-mart bags.

Brilliant idea, now why didn't I think of that, if I chose to do my own this summer since I am using synthetic gonna do the 6 months since we be at 3 years in march and only have 21000kms and wasting so much money on an oil change every 3 months. Gonna be sure to stick to the book though and well if the light comes on change it then too, or if it looks really dirty.
