Default 2011 Ram 1500 big horn...mods advice?

Hey out there,
Newbie here. Just bought my first Ram. made sure i did it right with a 2011 Ram 1500 big horn. Absolutely love it. trying to get used to the gas mileage.
Been talking around and different people have been telling about these modifications i can put on to get better performance and gas mileage ie: cold air induction, headers, throttle body spacers, etc, etc..
would love to do all that BUT...worried about my powertrain warranty or any warranty on the truck.
someone told me i could put a chip in and take it out if necessary and noone would be the wiser if ran into any problems.
plus...im not too much of a gear head with these new trucks and to be honest quite intimidated to work on something so complicated...give me a straight 6 anyday WITH a carb!!
but anyone on here have advice to share...
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Welcome to DF, congrats on your purchase...You'll love this site and be prepared to open your wallet once the ModBug hits you!

Okay few things first....no modification is going to really boost your MPG to a great extent (just remember you bought a full size pick up w/ a HEMI)...I didn't catch where you live, but if it's up north your mpg will be down bc the winter gas is at the pumps already. Adding CAI will not improve your MPG's it's a worthless mod, I have one on my truck I'm taking it off soon and selling it... I have a superchips programmer in my truck it's amazing really opens the HEMI up but it won't make MPG better bc you won't be able to keep your foot off of the pedal...

One mod you should do it add a BT Catch can... ($115) I wish I bought mine sooner...

BTW post pics of your truck....we are picture ****** around here!

Welcome. First since its new and a hemi your MPG will suck bad at first cause your gonna be hammering it and getting used to the power she has. After that phase you will learn that if your just light on the pedal your gonna get good MPH for a truck esapicailly with a hemi I roll at around 15 City and 22 Hwy.My 97 ram only got like 18hwy 10 Cty. If you were hoping for better should have got a prius.

22HWY.....Lucky you haha, I still can't keep my foot off the pedal w/ that 93 Octane tune..so fun getting on the HWY and slamming that pedal down!

Welcome to DF...

Good to see you got with the times! Haha...

Anyways I know for me its just going to be a tuner(already have it just waiting on bullydog to crack the encryption) And just visuals. This Hemi is one of the best trucks for power, and better for power to MPG ratios. Frankly for me I can't see any small mods helping you out performance or MPG wise. Some guys I know pull the motor and pretty much do an overhaul, headers, cam, you name it. Those are the guys that are going to see real good gains. But if your not going to do that, I really would not worry about it. Some guys do claim to do exhausts and air intake (just the easy slap on mod stuff) But IMO that can get you a lot of money for different things. Especially when you are only making slight gains. This is why I work on the visuals.
Put a tonneau on, it probably raised my MPG by close to 1. Not to mention I can store stuff in the back now and lock it. This is what I mean by other stuff to spend money on that can help you more! JUST MY OPINION

Sorry dumb question, but what's with the catch can? Looks to be some sort of filtering system from my google results. I have seen alot of people mentioned them but never seen why people got them.
