Default Need some help

I got an 09 Dodge ram 5.7 with about 157 thousand miles on it. Now, i know that i have quite a few miles on it, and i am wondering wich are the best spark plugs for a Hemi. I am tired of changing this plugs every 30 miles or so... Plus for some odd reason after about 20000 miles, cilinder #2 misfire code. So any help would be apreciated.

I personally wouldn't go with anything other than OEM as there seems to be issues. But with that said, I haven't had to do the change 7-8 times and can appreciate your frustration. There are a few posts of people trying different plugs, as recent as one this week..

Good luck and post your changes and experience. As with many others, I would be interested to see the results.

been running autolite double platinums for about 8 or 9k now with no problems/issues/lights, even running regular fuel pulling my 24 foot car trailer in the 7 or 8k range.

X2 on the OEM plugs...In my 07 I put in platinum's thinking I won't have to change them for a while. I had to change them after 15K, they were so worn. I havn't changed them in my 11 yet, but will only do it once before I trade up again! HAHA

But I do know that there are more guys then not, that have issues when putting anything but OEM plugs in. Not saying that all guys have issues when they put in iridiums or V-Powers etc, but there are many who do. I have not heard of anything about guys who put coppers back in.
Seems that it has something do with the MDS in these motors. The fact that those plugs are constantly firing and suddenly shut off for a bit (depends on how you drive and if your in 4cyl mode or not) Not to mention I did read somewhere that they fire the plugs a few times to make sure the cylinder is free from all fuels, so when they start it up again its all clear.

I am thinking about doing a BG treatment and change the coil pack for #2. Ive been running midgrade gasoline from Chevron/texaco and Shell only. It feels like is running better. Much better.

Might be a long shot....did you try running some injector cleaner? You might have picked up some gunk somewhere along the way and putting new plugs in wont clear that. Could be a fuel issue there...just a thought

Try swapping the pack between cylinders, move the #2 pack to the #1 cylinder and then see what happens. See if the problem follows the coil pack.
