I went by the dealer yesterday to get a price on a radiator for my '02 Grand Cherokee (yeah, split right on the seam on me last week 
- and after they were out of line ordered one from Advance).
About 20 or so new 1500 Rams on the lot, roughly 3 in 4 had Hemi engines in them...

1500's have the allotment. It's the 2500's with hemis that have to wait.
I went with almost a direct replacement on my Laramie. The deal on the sport demo was way to good to resist. Have to say the 6 speed makes a big difference. In a good way.

There is no shortage. Seeing 1500's with the Hemi is the way the lots are usually stocked. Nothing unusual about that at all. My dealer has a Hemi 2500 on the lot, no issue getting it. My Hemi 2500 order went right though also, being built today or tomorrow.
The new 6 speed in the 1500 is the same tranny so no real difference. Maybe the rear gears are different but the tranny itself is the same. The 2500 though is totally different in the tranny gearing. So much so that with the 4.10s and shorter tires, it will turn about the same RPMs as the 1500 with 3.92s and the 20" rims and tires (33").

so we drop a brand new crate motor in my '71 nova years back. I get under the car to do some work and noticed a "assembled in mexico" in the casting. I'm like ___k me! my "american muscle car" is run by a mexican motor!!
I buy my dodge truck. Right away, of course I'm under it, and notice the same $h!t stamped all over the d@mn truck!!! our dodges are more foreign than toyota trucks.
in fact a friend of mine dragged me to toyota before I bought my 3rd ram, and toyota has a stand in their showroom just for us American truck guys. Its a tool box on wheels with like 6 drawers? each drawer is a part of the toyota and how 1) it is beefier than every American truck, and 2) it is made and assembled here in America.
I was shocked, and blown away that the toyota is that American.
Well needless to say I bought my 3rd Ram!
