Default Hemi engine in limited supply?

Trying to order a Power Wagon and I've been told that there is a limited number of Hemi engines available and there all going into the ram 1500. None into the 2500's until February (at the soonest).

Can anyone confirm?

Not sure, but a Power Wagon would be cool to have. I know they are hard to find, but there might already be some around you. Maybe your local dealer could have one shipped in from another dealer.

I'm in Ontario and there are no 2012's to be found. My 2010 ram 1500 Laramie was rear ended by a Mack pumper truck and was written off. I was considering replacing it with a power wagon but don't seem to be having much luck!

I would just stick with your laramie. You will find the right will not be as nice as the power wagon, or be as comfortable. Unless your going to do lots of offroad and heavy work (including towing) I don't see it being worth it. You have to remember that you will be loosing your coilovers in the back, because you will be going to a 2500 (as far as I know they don't create a powerwagon in 1500???)

With that comes lots of extra money, just to get into a base 2500 ST your looking at an extra 9000 bucks from the 1500 base model. Your coming from a laramie, probably almost fully loaded right? That powerwagon will be almost 15000 on top of your laramie. Not to mention the cummins is NOT an option on it (you probably already know that, but why go into a 2500 and not get the diesel IF you have the cash to spend) Your going to loose leather if you have it because that is not an option in the powerwagon. I think your just going to loose a lot of the little options that you liked on your laramie. If your not going to do any heavy work, why spend all that extra money on that when you can spend that and get the laramie longhorn with every option available to mankind? AND for thousands cheaper then getting into a less optioned 2500?

If you got the money to spend and are doing the heavy work then just throw all that out the window, but just my opinion. I was looking into a cummins before I bought my 1500 and it just was not worth the extra 10-15 grand just so I could use that to my advantage maybe a few weeks out of the year....

Excellent advice. I will heed your words. Believe it or not after i read this test drove a 2012 black Laramie. I'll sign the papers tomorrow night.

I'd check with another dealer to be sure. Maybe the one your dealing with does not have allocation till then.

I've got a Hemi 2500 on order, went to D1 scheduled to be built without any delays. Actually scheduled for this week. It is possible with the $2,500 rebate this month that they have sold out the normal Hemi 2500 build allotment which could lead to a shortage. It is not normal, from what I have seen, for them to offer such a high rebate on the 2500 this early in the model year, one of the reasons I jumped on it now instead of waiting for truck month in March.

I went by the dealer yesterday to get a price on a radiator for my '02 Grand Cherokee (yeah, split right on the seam on me last week - and after they were out of line ordered one from Advance).

About 20 or so new 1500 Rams on the lot, roughly 3 in 4 had Hemi engines in them...
