Most trips are to my cabin, which is highway driving about 100 miles each direction. I usually cruise at about 70 mph, which is down from my 75 with the GMC. Love the truck, just expecting better mileage.
What axle ratio do you have? Is your's a 4x4?

Yeah, I probably could've guessed. The 2WD Ram owners I've talked to are getting pretty much around what I'm getting, some a little more actually, within about 5% of EPA rating. The 4x4 Rams seem to be out more. If I recall, a 4x4 Ram Hemi Quad was 13 city, 18 highway. Is that right?

Anyway, if the weight doesn't get you the increase in driveline friction will on a 4x4, especially in stop and go driving.

I have adopted a poor man's 4x4 substitute which worked very nicely on my '03 Dakota 2WD. That truck had a 3.55 LSD. When it snows badly or road conditions are icy, I just run one of the ATVs up in to the bed. Seven hundred or so pounds over the rear axle does a lot for traction and I can remove it when conditions improve. So far on the Ram its even worked out better because this Ram has traction control as well as LSD.

Let's all hope gasoline keeps going down!!

Dusty
