Default Why am I seeing this?

I am constantly being shown Ford 6 cylinder ECOboost trucks blowing away our HEMI rams on You Tube, I really think it is kinda sad since we are boasting 390HP and they are 300 or somewhere in that vicinity????? I may be wrong but wow why isn't Dodge working on a high powered turbo or supercharged 6 cylinder like all the other companies. Makes me feel bad using all this gas for nothing.

They actually have the same 365HP as the Taurus S.H.O. variants, they just use heavy duty headers to help with more torque as most trucks do. In any case, the Ecoboost trucks probably have less weight and the extra kick of the turbo probably helps out the rocket ride.

I agree on the rear end post. It is tough I think to find out who has what. I have 3.92's so I do not know if I could beat a regular cab ecoboost or not with comparable gears. A Ram is also not turbo so I am not sure if a turbo is a fair compared race.

ford either has a 3.55 or a 3.73 rear end in the trucks with the ecoboost. But they have a much lower first gear for better launches then our trucks do. I can run with a local 6.2 ford in my area but he normally gets a jump on me off the line but I can hang right with him, but im modified and he is stock.

I have 3.55 im my ram but i want to replace them to 4.10 i think but i need about $800 for both front and back kits. I want to get bigger tires too so that may kill everything i would have did for the lowend in my truck if i do this ring and pinion swap. Its 4x4 life or go fast and i love the mud!

I could care less really if an ecoboost can beat me. I think it comes down to reliability. The F-150's with ecoboost & the 5.0 engine have been blowing trannys by the thousands and there is a massive backup to get parts for this national recall. I have read people have barely got of dealer lots and the trannys blow and oil goes everywhere. It's all on the net.

Are you kidding? It's gotten to the point it's common knowledge even with non-car/truck people. Do a Google search, go read some Ford forums or just ride past a Ford lot and look where they park the vehicles awaiting repair. My local newspaper has a special "AUTO" section in every friday paper and they've done a couple of articles on it and there's at least a mention made every friday.

We got a guy in 3rd Gen who was a Chrysler mechanic who is now at a Ford dealership (small one) and has talked about something like half a dozen trucks on his lot awaiting non-arriving transmissions.

What does AutoBlog say about the last generation (Triton) engines and coil pack/plug problems, cause I have about 20 guys in my hunting club with them and maybe all but three have had ongoing problems, including two guys who have had plugs shoot out under pressure into the hood. Not a cheap repair to re-thread them either...
