encounters of the ford and chevy kind
anyone had any encounters with the 390 hp hemis on the street or strip with the new chevy 6.2 or the ford 6.2 or ecoboost. just curious what the outcome was, would like to try one out for size myself and see what the outcome is.

Unless you have a hemi R/T with LSD 3.92 gears, you`ll get your azz handed to ya.
The flea`s(ford) and the chubbies(chevy) have a true 6-speed trans, dodge does not.
The true 6-speed`s have a lower 1st gear ratio that gives them the advantage off the line in most cases.
So if you run against them with a hemi 4x4 QC/CC, you dont stand a chance, unless the other guy is a really bad dragracer.
Let me correct what i wrote.... R/T has 4.10 gears, not 3.92

I drove an ecoboost last week, read all the hype on the internet, figured it would be hell on wheels.......talk about a let down.
Unless you held your foot to the floor it felt very sluggish, the turbo lag and early shift points really killed the excitement.
I pulled out into traffic, put it in manual mode, took traction control off and walked on it, Little turbo lag and then it was off, burnt the tires right through first gear, hit the rev liimiter before I had a chance to thumb it into 2 gear. Hit 2nd gear, got traction and the speed climbed very quick. It was pretty impressive if done like that, but for day to day driving and putting a smile on your face, Hemi wins hands down.

This same guy is probably over on the F150 forums probably posting threads relative too...
"Why is my Eco-boost only getting 15-16 mpg's?"

Uhhh, nope…… I don’t have an R/T and I don’t have 4:10’s. I finally got my first run in with a Freako Boost, it’s the only one I have seen so far. This guy was weaving in and out of traffic and flooring it every chance he got. I have seen him doing this before on my morning commute but could never quite get near him in all the traffic....but a few weeks ago Mr. King of the road snagged a red light and found me right beside him (OK I worked at it a tad). I spun a bit off the line, but I also had the better reaction time. After the intersection he was somewhere along side my bed but by 50 his front end was properly in my rear view and at 60’ish he was falling back nicely - that was all he brought? I wanted to really put it to him but I was coming up on a group of cars ahead of me so I gave Mr. Former king of the road some brake lights instead. He did not have anywhere near the grunt required for this match and I have run Tundra’s that had better stamina than that. I doesn’t look like his 6 speed helped him out against my miserable 5 speed at all. Maybe he could remove a gear next time? I haven’t seen the guy since then, looks like he changed his route or maybe he has it in the shop getting modded up????

I`ve owned both the RCSB 4x4 and the QC 4x4, and the QC 4x4 hemi is a slug "compared" to my first 2010 RCSB 4x4 hemi truck.
So for the guys running their bone stock QC/CC hemi against the ecopoof, they`re likely going to get beat, BUT, not by much.
Put a 93 octane tune and true dual exhaust on the hemi, the ecopoof dosent stand a chance of even getting close.
Wait until the 8-speed comes out behind a 6.4 in the 1500.... it`ll be a BIG TIME good bye for ford chevy toyota...!
