The things I do dictate I need a 4WD truck and for the 28 years I've been driving have had one or a full size 4WD SUV in all but less than one year total in all that time.
But I've had "sports cars", three of them. The first one I sold to buy the second which I had for about eight months before it got totaled. I was hit and the accident was the other driver's fault, but suffice it to say if I wasn't in a sports car I wouldn't have been hit. The third I wrecked - in three weeks and four days after I bought it. Was young, being completely stupid and actually got the thing airborne and hit a five foot diameter oak tree four feet up from the ground.
I have not owned, nor will ever own a "sports car" or probably a car for that matter again. A man's got to know his limitations...

Agreed... You seem to already know your answer.

I have the exact same M.O. so I cannot say a dam thing

I have been married to my wife for just over 10 years this year and so far counting the new Ram I bought last night I think there has been 12 pickups bought and sold in that time. That is just the number of them I can count off the top of my head... Probably forgetting one or two.

No intent to brag or anything like that. Simply saying I am a sick man and there should be a 12 step program for guys like me. I walk into a Harley dealer or truck dealer and I am like my 4 year old son in Chuck-E-Cheese

The way I see it is if you can put food on the table and are not taking anything away from your family.... Do what makes you happy! We have such a short time here on earth that we should make the most of each and every day. BUT be sure you are supporting your loved ones first.

OK, I think Im done....

You like the Charger more than the Challenger. Thats interesting I dont think the charger has much character but to each his own. Like everyone else said you need to decide if you need the truck or if a car would be okay.

I use to be like you when I was single. Had a different vehicle every 2-3 years. Did the same with my motercycles. Then it hit me, while I could afford the payments, what about my retirement? so decided on a truck. Started keeping vehicle 10 years. Made payment to myself, then started paying cash for the vehicles unless I could get 0% interest (which only happened once). Was able to retire debt free.

the choice is yours. But do think of your future retirement. It is never too early.

I still have not heard anything back from the dealer. They are not close to me and were willing to meet me halfway if we made a deal. Good, sage advice by everyone. Many times anonymity on the internet is negative thing because people can write whatever they want with no consequences. But, you can also ask for feedback like this and people will give you their honest opinion without worrying about hurt feelings.

Mike I hear ya loud and clear and it is very good advice.

I am toying with the idea of going from the truck to a car but I was the new 300 SRT with all the toys, or the Charger SRT or would settle for the Challenger SRT but I am gonna get it the way I want it no more off the lot stuff. I figure the same thing, the truck is not what I expected especially seeing what the new Ford can do to a HEMI I am disappointed but still like the truck just 3 years is actually long time for me and a vehicle. The only other thing is keep truck for winter and use the srt as a summer vehicle and put all the power adders, headers, real duals, cam, bigger throttle body and injectors....maybe go crazy and supercharge it and take on some of those Grand Cherokee Srts out there LOL

Again, I appreciate everyone's input. I am gonna wait before I do anything. Winter is upon us and will remind me of why I love my truck. I have a feeling there will still be leftover Mopar's in the spring if I still feel the itch. Additionally, the Super Bee comes out this Spring and it sticker's very close to the Mopar 11. I probably will keep my truck and be happy, but why rush anything at this point.

I go through the same cravings. I rarely would have a vehicle past 6mos, and never had one as long as my Ram (3 years and still love the thing). I get the craving at times, but I know it'll pass. Wait around, something else will come out that you want, then something else...after a while you might be glad you still have the truck and haven't thrown away all that money switching. That's just me, though. Good luck with whatever you decide.

The Charger can be had with AWD also.. I would hold out for the new 8 speed automatic to be added on the V8 models..(Charger)..
