Default Pace Edwards Bedlocker question

I am thinking of this cover" Bedlocker "for my 2012 longhorn with the ram boxes. Anyone have any experience with them? how about in cold climates, is there an issue with operating when in -F degrees?

The bedlocker I do believe is fully electronic and VERY $$$$$ compared to what you can get. I would look into roll and lock, or bac industries. They are the 2 leaders in tonneaus (at least around here) I don't know if they create an electronic one, but IMO you can pull that thing open pretty easy from either side when not electronic. I also don't know how the electronics would work in the winter, but typically electronics don't like to work when its -10 C especially motors. Not to mention if those motors do not have a free wheel ability if that motor is too cold, your not going to be able to open it by hand. Personally I have manual ones and they work just fine! Save your money and just go with a regular pull.

I had a rolbac G2 on my 3rd gen and I absolutely loved it! There are no locks or anything on the top, you just pull the cover back, and lock your tailgate and its fully protected and no one can tamper with it.

I have a roll and lock on my truck right now, the only reason that I went away from the rolbac is because I could not get one here in canada. It had to be on special order which cost an extra 400 bucks. So I went with the roll and lock. Its a very nice tonneau but I don't like the fact that there is a locking plate that you have to screw to the end of the tailgate. This allows you to use the tonneau lock to lock everything vs locking the tonneau and your tailgate both to be secure. Other then that its nice, it slides really easy and seems to be pretty weatherproof. I do have to get a tailgate seal because the thing acts as a bloody vacuum to dust. Everything else tho is really weatherpoof.

Just my two cents.

Thanks, Im pretty sure I'll be sticking with the power cover, but there are two I have seen, the Bedlocker, or the Retrax PowertraxOne cover. Both look similar, with the powertrax being $200 cheaper. If anyone has any experience with either I'd like to get a comparison.
