I keep receiving phone calls from the dealership I purchased my truck from as well as the another dealership I've had warranty work done prior, trying to schedule an appointment.

I have a hard time believing they could not contact another dealership for outer tie rods in a more realistic time. I've checked mine, no movement so I'll wait until needed, the recall notice can be done anytime.

I recieved my notice months ago and I called my dealer the same day I recieved the notice and they did mine the next day. I asked them before I made the appointment if they had all the parts and service told me the had plenty on hand for several vehicles, I am not where your dealer got only a few at a time. If I remember right it was not really safety related but moisture could seep into the component. I think I am one of the lucky few, my local Dodge Jeep Chrysler Ram dealer has a good reputation in the community and is known for good service and sales. I have done alot of buisness with them.

Ask to speak to the regional rep. Tell them what is happening. 5 weeks to wait on a recall? I wonder if your tie rod broke and the truck was wrecked what your lawyer would say? I wonder what their lawyer would say? Ask your dealer that. I would certainly go into the dealer next time and ask them for the number to the complaint rep. The other I would ask for is a something in writing saying that they couldn't do it, and reason for why not so that you could give it to Ram in case something happened. Probably should have gotten that the very first time they told you no.

Which dealer? I ask as I'm also in Winnipeg and had Eastern order them and they were in in 2 weeks, but that was right around x-mas rush, so I'm waiting to get them till the 9th.

I had my truck in for an unrelated issue and they replaced the tie rods while they had it. I had no idea they were replacing them until I picked it up.
