Default What is important at 30k miles on truck

got 30,00 and change on my 5.7 2wd. Getting my 4:56's installed on Wednesday ( cant wait!) so they will obviously change the rear diff fluids.
What else is important to have serviced at 30k? The dealer would charge me 1,000 bucks for a 30000 service and change the plugs. I know that is way to much.
What is important at this point? Plugs, throttle body and tranny? Need some advice fellaz! Want to take care of baby, but dont want to get corn holed either.....
its a 2010 2wd.......

Auto trans I believe is 60k. Plugs are due. I used Iridium's 100000 plugs. You can also use the factory in the 'other' 5.7s double platinum that are a 100000 TB ought to be k. Pull snorkel and look up in TB.

I did the whole servie schedule on my wive Jeep and I was following the same schedule for my truck(I spent hundreds of dollars following these schedules). Then I moved and income was tight and I haven't followed the same schedule since. I have 50k on my truck and I have not changed my plugs yet. I plan on doing it myself at 60k, my fuel mileage is fine and the truck is running fine. I change the oil every 5k like the service guy tells me I can and I put gas in it. I did change the differential's at 30K but I did a lot of towing with it the first 30k. From here on out I am not going to spend so much time and money at the dealer and I am now folloing a less aggressive maintenance schedule. Hope this helps.

Mine is an 09. Refer to you owners manual.
At 30K for the 09 call for inspecting/replace the air cleaner, lube/oil/filter, Replace the plugs, tire rotation, inspect/replace transfer case fluid for 4x4.

At the 18K service my dealership inspected the front and rear diffs fluids and said they where fine and I could wait another 6K if I wanted. Nice to see some dealerships actually inspect and don't just replace when not needed.

I will be hitting 30K this summer. I will have the plugs replaced and most likely the transfer case fluids. Those are the two biggest items. The main reason I will follow the manual to the letter is becuase of the lifetime warrenty on the drive train the 09's have.

Read your 2010 Owners Manual Booklet (Page 78)
It does not say to change the differential lubes @ 30,000 miles, only says to inspect them.
Only needs to be changed if its used for: Police, Taxi, Fleet, Off Road, and Frequent Towing.

If anyone pays a dealer $1,000 for a 30,000 service, they are seriously ripping you off.

You only inspect the transfer case lube @ 30,000 miles.

Does anybody read their owner manual`s anymore..?

yes, I know that they need to only "inspect" the transfer case oil at 30K. Only if it indicates that it should be changed, the oil should be replaced.
I made a point that my dealer does just that. I did not need to replace the front/rear diff at 18K, They inspected.

I also made the point that since mine is an 09. I am documenting and following the manual. I want a paper trail for the lifetime powertrain warrenty.

Your point of read the owners manual is good advice.
