With the leveling kit installed do you notice any vibration while in 2 wheel drive? Or is it only when you are in 4 wheel drive? And has anyone tried anything from Icon? Thanks, new member here trying to get some info

@mike... just got moved to germany... first shot of scotch in 8 months... few more days...

@dozer.... it will only be in 4wd/awd. The trucks with the awd option seem to be worse (laramie and newer sport). The problem is not the lift kit itself, it is factory components that are being pushed beyond their max... theorys include cv joints, tie rods and worn out rubber bushes. 4 and 6 inch lifts that include a front diff drop seem to address the problem wheras all lifts that that do not drop the front diff may exhibit the symptoms if installed on an unlucky truck.

Exactly same issue with me. I tried the Bilstein's first, got the slight vibration when accelerating hard in 4WD - was fine when accelerating slow and steady (which is prob the norm if requiring 4WD?). Took the Bilstein's out, tried the HBS 2.5" level kit (which was actually what I purchased). Exact same as the Bilstein's. Ended up keeping the HBS kit in. Didn't end up doing an alignment yet since removing the Bilstein's and installing the HBS kit but it is fine. Is an alignment even truly needed after a level kit??
I can live with the vibration if it doesn't get any worse. Still have the crappy stock tires on for a while too. Am able to remove the HBS kit and return it to them for a full refund, but I want to put on larger tires without a full blown lift so not much choice to do it on the cheap!

I dont have hard evidence but as far as im concerned it is the tie rod ends that were the problem on my truck the whole time. I expect the shake to come back eventually and I will inspect the tie rod ends to see if they truly are the culprits when that happens. If you can live with a 4" lift then I would go that route since they do not cause the front end shake that a leveling kit does.
When they put on new tie rod ends did they say there was a TSB or anything for them?
Wonder if there are better ones we can buy to put on...

AlbertaRAM....I'd def. get an alignment done, Your toe and camber will have adjusted ever so slightly and if that's the case you will have pre-mature tire wear and excess wear on your front end components.

After I put my 5100's in I took it right to a shop and got it aligned...no issues since. I do have the slight front end vib. I didn't get it at first but it's there now and nothing to bad.

Ya I had it aligned right after the 5100's and it was there... about the same as the HBS kit. I can live with it for the looks but a fix would be ideal (and still be able to keep it).

JayMan will probably chime in... But he put in some high angle cv joints by Core (if I remember correctly).. he said it helped it, then after the tie rod recall its gone now.
But with any level kit, your putting to much of an angle on your CV joints which is what is causing the issue.
