Transmissions get warm, makes sense that you would get condensation on it.

Maybe they said seeping not sweating? I had a pan leak and the dealer said that seepage is OK. I argued and they ended up putting on a new pan gasket and replaced 7 quarts of trans fluid under warranty.

Another possibility is that the trans fluid got so hot that it boiled out of the filler tube and got on the transmission. I've never heard of this on Rams but chevys used to do it.

If the transmission is actually sweating through the casting, then it's a defective cast and they are trying to avoid the repair.

No way a transmission should "sweat." Condensation occurs on a COLD object, when the warmer, moister, air comes in contact with it.....

Darin,

There should not be transmission fluid coming out of the transmission and by no means is that normal. I would recommend another dealer if there was trans fluid on the outside of the transmission and the dealer indicated that was normal.
