More problems
For the people who've seen my post before about my fathers 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie and the problems my father has encountered with it here are some more for you...Brakes squealing less than a year old, right fog lamp loose, while in reverse the brakes make a big ert sound (been noted before) and last engine makes a strange ticking sound on the left side (some say its normal)? I spoke with my fathers service lady he deals with for the Max care warranty (Advance care program) she claims after speaking to a Dodge Ram engineer for 5 minutes they claim its not suppose to be doing that so it might be another recall in the making possible lifter or lifters are going down?...I have a appointment setup for this Wednesday coming for the dealership to take it in and let them find all the problems. This truck is only a year old (2011) doesn't make since. I'll keep everyone updated. Maybe hopefully they will actually find and fix these problems once and for all.

Loose foglamp...that can happen
reverse...Again, that "errt" sound is probably the pad compound coming into contact with rotor surface. this can be much more amplified if there's moisture on the surface or a thin film of rust on the surface. Obviuosly this is the inner surface so you can't tell unless you remove a wheel.
ticking sound is well known by dealers and engineers at Chrysler and has been named "hemi tick". people say, its not a matter of how, but when.
Chrysler ranked at the very bottom as far as complaints go. 192 complaints per 100vehicles sold. Most manufacturers are at 130 per 100 sold. Best was at 83 per 100 sold(Lexus) so, unfortunately it makes perfect sense you have numerous little problems.
Well at least chrysler is still VERY consistant, consistant at scoring the lowest.
It explains why they`re loosing customers & business everyday.

My 2010 had all those problems, except the loose foglight which cant be that complicated of a fix. I will expect the 2012 to have the same issues, not to mention the 2010 looking looking like it was painted in a windstorm, the 2012 isnt quite as bad paint-wise.
But I have owned plenty of GM and Ford trucks and they all have their little common problems and complainers. Main difference is the dealer themselves, get a crappy dealer and you wont be happy. Being OCD plus a crappy dealer is an even more miserable experience.
People would ask why I would buy the same truck with the last one having so many little issues (hemi tick, paint, occasional electronic freak outs, brakes squealing forward and shuddering when in reverse, heater motor makes noise all the time, gas pedal vibration, trans 'buzz' when going into reverse etc) and I dont know really lol. But IMO for the money, typical 6-9K off sticker, its a damn nice riding, decent handling, good looking truck - and it never left me stranded on the side of the road like some others in 30K miles. I can live with the little quirks, its a pickup truck and I use it as such.

Thanks for the post....but I must say OCD much? Sit in a parking lot for 30 minutes and watch how many new vehicles (i don't give a $#$@ what brand) and listen they most will squeal is it right, no! But as we all know budget cut here budget cut there. Mr. CEO wants more $$ in his pocket and less put towards quality, welcome to the world of outsourcing EVERYTHING. American made truck, pull apart ford, chevy, dodge and look at where most of the parts are made..... Right fog lamp loose, that can happen to anything on ANY vehicle (it's not a common problem). The ticking did you check your exhaust manifold bolts, have been known to snap and just need to be replaced. Hell it may be a lifter issue and if so I'm sorry to hear that, that's what warranty is for...wish you the best of luck w/ that.
Sorry about my rant, it's a truck not a damn 7series...
BMW and Lexus are great cars do you think EVERY vehicle off the lot is perfect...no.
The new fords have there issues, one being there price tag for what you get. Chevy, has there's and Dodge has theres.... I was a ford guy before I bought my first dodge...I've had a few issues w/ mine but nothing that made me say i'll never buy one again. Personally i'll continue w/ dodge until something completely screws me.

We love our 2009 RAM, it is as quiet as a Lexus(yes I have been in one) has lots of power, could use the power a little sooner than 4000 rpms but it's okay I could get a tuner if I really want to. I had several small things biggest was the heater door issue, all the other stuff was a faulty power heated mirror, and several of those updates, and a few recalls but they were all done and all is well . That ERT sound I hear that on most vehicles usually when backing up and after it sat out overnight...light rust on the rotors, once you drive a block it's gone.
