Default Mopar Controller on 2012 SXT won't work

Chrysler has changed the 2012 SXT 1500 to only have a single controller. Dealer plugged the Mopar controller in yesterday to see what would happen and it won't get a power feed, they tried flashing the truck without result.

Bottom line can't use the Mopar controller unless somebody can direct us to the post showing where to splice the addtional wires for the second connector.

Dealer was good enough to give me another controller that looks like it will nicely slip into the cubby where the Mopar controller would fit. Snowing today so I'll have to try it out tomorrow.

I have a 2012 Sport, it had the 2 connectors BUT the 2nd one was very hard to find, it was up quite a bit higher than the large one and it was almost completely wrapped up, couldnt see it from under the dash, had to look through the panel on the side. I havent had it flashed yet and it works fine, just doesnt display in the EVIC.

Do you have the wiring info for the second connector?

I read through this thread and get to part where Ron says it's snowing, then I check the date and see it's 7 months old.

I have a 2012 1500 without the trailer brake module. Looking to buy a travel trailer and need this device. Called my dealer and asked about getting it installed, told him about this thread and he understood. Said the kit for the 2012 has a harness that will connect everything properly and should be good to go. I'll let you know next week. Your information was very valuable, thanks to everyone.

Default integrated brake controller

I have a 2012 1500 big horn edition and am looking at getting the integrated brake controller and installing myself. I was told by a local dodge dealer that once installed that the on-board computer has to be programmed to recognize it.

Is this true or are they trying to scam more money?

I have a 2011 2500 with the IBC already factory installed. However, I'm not happy with the braking performance. I've checked and adjusted the brakes on my 5th wheel so I know they're good. I understand that there are 4 different settings available for the controller depending on the weight and/or desired braking performance you want. Even at a setting of 10 (max), the braking performance is very sluggish.

I've been told to go the settings in the information center, choose trailer brakes, select it and choose the setting desired.

When I try this and hit select on trailer brakes, nothing happens. Does the trailer need to be plugged in for it to go further or are these additional settings NOT available on the 2011's?

Default OEM brake controller

Hello, I'm new here, just bought a 2012 RAM to tow my 12 year old daughter's horse trailer. I know people hate resurrecting old threads, but this is the closest one I can find to my problem. I have a truck without the second connector under the dash for an OEM Trailer Brake Controller, only one(grey plug with wires in green, yellow w/red stripe, black, white w/bl??? stripe). Originally thought I needed a PN 56029431AG, AL, AM or one of the variations(can't find a pic of the bottom of one, maybe that PN doesn't have a second connection?). Called a Mopar Genuine Parts place and they checked by VIN and said I need PN 82212548. Online and other dealership parts people say that part will not work without the 2 connectors. I so badly want to install an OEM controller in the cubby hole where it should be from the factory. Notes: I have removed all panels from the console to the left side of the truck and there is no second pigtail with a connector. Every pigtail off the harness goes to a destination and is plugged into something. My steering wheel only has the cruise control buttons. My center console only has Tow/Haul, Traction Control, Hazard Flasher buttons. Has anyone on the Forum figured out how to resolve this or am I just stuck with picking an aftermarket controller? Thanks in advance for any help!
