2012 RAM Integrated Brake Controller
Is anybody aware of a change in the 2012 RAM 1500 SXT and that Chrysler is installing only a single connector under the dash (confirmed by the dealer who also spent 30 minutes searching for the second).
I just bought this truck and have now been told I can not install the Mopar p/n 68146918AA unit due to the lack of the second connector.
My vehicle was purchased with factory installed towing package. Some 2012 trucks were built with two connectors, mine and others that we checked in the showroom were not.

My 2012 2500 only came with the one plug. I also have the harness connector in the glove box to use any controller, so this is not too concerning to me. I guess if that is the case then there must be an adapter to utilize, either that or find another one. In essence though, mine also only has the one plug.

I have been scammed by Chrysler
Just got off the phone with Chrysler Canada customer service who advised me that the "promotional" 2012 RAM 1500 SXT Quad Cab 4X4 that I purchased is in fact not an SXT (that would have come with two connectors) but rather it's an SL dressed up with an SXT appearance package (that only comes with one connector) therefore they say I can't install a Mopar brake control.
Beware the scam if you are looking for a new truck!!!
What reason if any exists to not simply purchase the controller and install it. By my reckoning as long as it has the standard 4 wire harness that goes to the trailer, it should work just like any other aftermarket controller. Right?????

On some of the trucks there is only one connector. The factory controller does indeed need 2 connectors to work. But there is a answer if you do not want to cut/splice into the 1 connector that is there. Dodge sells a female connector that mates with the factory so you don't have to cut/splice. With this female connector you can wire in any aftermarket controller. Part # 68049133AA sells for $10.00. Challenge your local parts guy to find this part and when he can't find it, tell him oh I have the part number.

Thanks for the feedback. I do have the pigtail 68049133AA that the dealer said did not exist but funny enough had one in stock. I could install my current controller off my old Suburban but there is no good place to put it where it won't get in the way except to pull off the cubby where the Mopar one would mount and butcher it.
My question is just what does the small connector attach to and control and why wouldn't the standard four wire feed to the brakes from the controller work without the small connector attached to anything.
If as is said below I can purchase the small connector and install it myself (something Chrysler said can't be done) does anybody have the part number and instruction on where to wire it?

I have an OEM brake controller installed in my truck that came with only one connector. You can splice in the couple extra wires easy enough and get the OEM one to work, my truck is proof. I don't have the instructions any more, or remember who told me how to do it, but the info has been on this site for almost two years since I did mine.
