Valve stem tops mushroomed - #2 Misfire continued
So my truck has been at the dealer now for 2 weeks. They have now removed the right cylinder head and found the valve stem tops under the rockers are mushroomed. They said they have seen the same thing on police car hemi's but not on the truck hemis. How the hell does that happen with roller rockers wow. Dealer says it seems like Dodge uses cheap valves. So they are going to pull the other head and ship them off to a machine shop most likely, Chrysler is resisting but the dealer said if this head is like that the other should at least be checked. Man this is my first Dodge and probably my last. Major engine problems at 27k miles, on a truck motor, the hell with that. Love the truck but its as good as gone, I guess I'm heading back to Ford or maybe a Chevy.

I wouldnt put alot of faith in what your dealer is telling you.
Go take some pictures of the heads and post them on here.
Let some of the guys on here see them, they`ll likely give you a better answer.
Heading back to ford or chevy:
If you think you have problems now, switch back and you`ll wish you hadnt.
Both turds and chubbies have their issues as well.... been there, done that already... i came back to dodge.

I honestly can't say I blame you. Although I've seen the inside of a few Hemi truck engines, some with well over 100,000 miles on them and haven't seen a single valve issue short of one '03 with a broken valve spring.
I had a piston crack and drop on a new Ford F150, 5.4 Triton with 14,000 miles on it and the subsequent dealings I had with the dealer and Ford made me trade it in two days after I got it back and swearing off Ford for good...

So that's 2 Dodge/Plymouth's for me and both had major engine failures early. Maybe its just not my brand, I baby my vehicles so imo there's no reason they should be breaking down like this.
If you sell it then Dodge wins, I would use up that 100K powertrain warranty.
Getting pissed off and trading it in on another truck isnt going to **** off Dodge, if you like the truck let them fix it and keep it. At least you are getting a loaner, if you need the truck for work thats another story.
Honestly unless the top of the valve stems were worn down .200 I doubt they found the misfire. How you go from decarbonizing and sending the truck back to you and then pulling the heads who knows.
