Default 5.7 4x4 trans oil change - help

Hi,

I just changed transmission oil (pan drop with filters) and I first added around 6L of atf+4, but then I checked level and it seemed to low, so I added around 0.5L more and level chenged very little, for about 2mm... So at 105°F there should be around 35mm above dipstick, and I have only around 24mm to 26mm. Is it possible that EVIC reads to high temperature? I drove with truck and it seems all oky...

I'm just scared I added a little too much oil... :S

Any help would be apricciated

Thank you!

Regards,
Rok

Go by whatever the dipstick reading is when trans temp is full operating temp, you`ll be ok

The owners manual says to check it at normal operating temperature 180 degrees. The highest I've seen mind is 178 while pulling my boat with outside temperature at 104.

That's right, on normal driving I get around 140°F. Basically it really doesn't matter if I added little bit too much oil, because it never rises so high...

But I will check and remove excessive oil in summer anyway, so I could sleep tight

Oh, I got little over 200°F when I was pulling chapparal 270 on highway when I was pulling full throttle uphilll (German highyway is not as flat as they tell you on DiscoveryChannel )... that was the highest. And I won't do the same again, I think
