sounds like a pcm/can bus issue. electronic part and is an easy swap out that should be covered under your 3/36 if they have the part in stock and its not on back order.

So the truck has now been at the dealer for a full 2 days. Day 3 is about to start they are unable to tell me whats wrong, I got a feeling that they have not started to work onit yet. They told me he had to wait for the Diesel tech to look at it. So today is the day I start pushing for some answers.

Yeah sounds like they are sitting on it, with an error message it's a simple matter of plugging the StarScan tool in to see specifics. "Diesel tec", what a joke, anybody can plug the scan tool in and read it.

Wait till that sucker is out of warranty, when I had my diesel it was $165 for the "Diesel tech" to plug in the same StarScan tool that is plugged into gassers for $80. The same repairs/scans/maintenance is often 2-3x the cost just because there is a "CTD" or "Duramax" or "PowerStroke" insignia on the side of the truck...

This is my first post on the forum. I also have a 2012 Ram 2500 diesel that shows the "NO BUS" message and all warning lights come on. I was searching the internet and found this thread.

My truck has been to the dealer twice. It has 15000 miles. They cannot find what is going on and cannot duplicate the problem. 2 out of three times the truck has had problems has been while it has been raining.

The check engine light was on the first time it was brought to them and they said it was a communication code. I don't know the exact code because the service write up is in the truck right now.

I am curious if anything more was found about this issue. I would like to get it resolved while still under warranty. Thank you.

Rl,

This thread is pretty old so you may not get a response from the previous posters but I would suggest you contact the Chrysler Customer Assistance Center so they can get a Chrysler tech involved with the dealership to help solve the issue. They can be reached at one of the following numbers below.

800-992-1997 United States
800-465-2001 Canada

Thank you for the reply. The dealership has contacted Chrysler. Just waiting for a response. They have not been able to duplicate the problem. I will call customer assistance on Monday

I posted the original message. I still have the truck with over 20000 miles onit, truck runs great. I kn ow it was a electronic issues and not any sort of mechanical issue. The dealer could not reproduce the problem and it has never happened again. But I am pretty sure it had to do with water. The dealer had the truck 3 times I think and each time it was like 4 - 5 days. They ended up putting a data recorder which they mounted in the truck I had that for like two weeks but it never played up again. So not sure what the actually fix was or even if they knew thay had fixed it.

Thanks for the update. I am sure mine had to do with driving in the rain. The dealership has checked all the connections and fuses. At this point, I just have to wait for it to happen again and hope it continues to do it on the way to the dealership (if it is at a time when they are open) so they can see it. Thanks again.
