To everyone with a Procomp 6" lift
To everyone who has a 6" Procomp lift kit, can you tell me if your truck is setup the same. I was changing my rims and tires since winter is pretty much over (fingers crossed) and noticed that my springs are slanted to the front some. I think it's normal because the truck is higher, but where everything is bolted down to the axle looks like it could be leaning forward some to straigten everything out. Like where the bump stops are (when the truck compresses down the bump stops only touch half the plate. Can anyone tell me if this is the same on their truck.

Notice where the springs sit, not very airbag friendly, see how this set holds up. I made a puck before so the bags would sit flat at the base but the bags ended getting pinched and leaked
, so now i'm gonna try just like this see how it holds up to some real weight in the summer.

Is you guys' setup the same or what the hell is going on here.

My .02 - judging by the pictures if you wanted to do a 6" lift correctly on that suspension, you need longer/adjustable lower control arms so that the coil buckets can be rotated inline with the coils - which would in turn probabally cause some issues with your pinion angle.
One thing that seems a bit odd is that at normal stance that the arms appear to be above horizontal in the resting position - did it always look like that?

To be honest i never noticed that problem since i got the lift installed over 2 years ago until I started playing around with my airbags. But it was most likely always like this, as for the springs pretty sure i can probably spin them around if i drop the axle enough to have slack in them, that might help for that but still the entire axle seems to be on a slant towards the back.
I understand what you mean with the arms now the top one should be a bit shorter and the bottom one longer and that would fix it, they are not adjustable. The only thing i can see changing is the angle of the u-joint on the driveshaft but that's probably not an issue since there would be minimal angle change.
I'm wondering if all the procomp lifts are like this on the rams or i just got screwed with something here. Now this is pissing me off even though the truck rides good and all.
Mine looks somewhat similar, angle of spring not so steep frontward.looks like you are missing a few shim rings that are suppose to be between the bottom of the coil spring, and tower bracket though.mine has what looks like 3 sections of rings stacked together between coil and bracket.i think with the air bag pressurized,it is trying to straighten out the spring, except for the lower portion, were it is slipped over the nipple on the tower, causing the slanted look of the spring.the rings must have been removed during the air bag install.

I got the lift installed by a shop and i`m starting to think that they didn`t put those to give the truck a more nose up stance. I remember telling the guy when i picked my truck up that the truck didnt have a rake like i thought it would, and his answer was that the kits that come to Canada only have 4 inches of lift in the back instead of the real 6, because apparently that`s how us Canadians like it. But that was probably bull****.
Anyways it`d be nice if you could take a couple pictures would be appreciate
thanks
When my truck gets back from the dealer I will take a snap shot for you.Basically its just 3 rings, about 1/8"-3/16" thick stacked on top of each other, centered over the tower nipple, and the coil rests on top of the 3 rings, overall thickness of the rings are probably 3/8"-1/2",now this is just eyeball guestimation,lol,lol.......
Alright sounds good, those would definitely help my airbags they would sit a Lil better on the tower..
Why is your truck in the shop now?

Ok thanks. Does your blocks where the springs sit lean back a bit, like in my last photo you can see the blocks are not quite parallel to the frame. And do you have the rings that ridem high was talking about.
My truck is in the shop for three reasons. My wiper spray nozzles are not spraying.(Or not spraying the way they should).10-009 manifold bolt RRT.Noise in front end when turning steering wheel. The noise didn't showup until they replaced the tierod ends with updated ones....Figure that out!!!!lol,lol,lol,.....
