Default Intergrated Trailer Brake Controller

Help!! I have a 2012, 1500 Sport. I only had one of the plugs for the intergrated brake controller. So, I did the wiring as NETMAN66 told us to do. I went down and had the dealer flash it. The dealer said it looked good.
When I hook up to my horse trailer, it seems as if the emergency break-away is on all the time. I pull forward and the wheels on the trailer lock-up. Same backwards.
When I disconnect the 7 pin connector, the brakes release. The controller is set to 0.0.
The controller only lights up when the manual slide is engaged.
Did I get a wire incorrect when I wired it to the "B" plug?
Any help out there........thanks guys.

The controller should light up when the trailer is connected, and stay lit up until it is disconnected.

What is the part number of the controller you installed? It looks like 56029431AH is for '09-'11 and 56029431AK is for '12+. The newer controller is supposed to be able to work with electric-over-hydraulic brakes, among other changes.

Default Thanks

I believe you are correct. I didn't tell Parts CO in Tampa that this was for a 2012, not knowing there was a difference.
I will contact them tomorrow and see about switching them out.
Thanks for the info. I knew that I had wired it correctly. It just dosen't want to work correctly.
Thanks again.

This also could be that your charge wire for breakaway battery is backwards with brake wire ,might try switching the two wires.
