Default iPod question

After owning my Sport for TWENTY months (!) I finally plugged an iPod Touch into the cable in the glove box.

Eureka! Play lists appear, turns unit on and off from the radio etc.

(I have the Nav unit from 2010).

So..... does anyone know if the iPod is being charged while the radio is on?

Jim,

It should be charging when plugged in. To find out what else your system can do click on the link below and select the download user manual option after selecting your year and model type.

If its a newer touch or iphone then it may not charge (at least my 2010 1500 didnt) with the factory cable. You can buy one of those adapters from Skosch (sp) or a newer cable from Dodge, PN 82212001.

My wife's 2010 Jeep was a later production and her REN did charge the newer generation ipods/iphones.

Does anybody know if they've solved the error issue when plugging on an iphone through the glove box? When I plug my ipod touch or iphone into the usb in the glove box it will charge but I can't access my music. I get an error message. I'm using the white cable that came with my iphone.

I have the 2012 and the glove box won't play the songs off my ipod shuffle. But when I hooked it up to the front one, it allowed me to copy the songs into the hard drive.

Yup; it's charging.

Yipee!

I'm thrilled. It's like finding $20 in an old jacket pocket.

I only have 1 usb plug and it's in the glove box. I can use the 3.5 mm jack but I don't get any control over the iphone.
