Thanks to both of you. When I went into the wheel store I could not find anything that seemed my style. They were so fancy.
They did end up quoting me a set of rims and tires that are stock size. Similar to what I have but a real rim. Do you guys have skins on your rims?

Mine are the chrome plastic clad rims. Some accountant must of thought of those to save some money. I'll keep my stock wheels as long as they hold up but those damn Goodyears are going ASAP. To say they are junk would be a compliment. I usually run Michelin on my trucks and have never had a complaint about traction or wear problems. I also usually stay with the stock size or maybe one size larger. I'm to old to get those huge tires. Half the trucks that have them never see a dirt road and they must all have 6' girlfriends or wives to be able to get in the truck once they put their 10' lift on the truck.

Yeah you could say skins... they`re glued right to the wheels. I have the factory 20inch chrome clad wheels on my 2010 hemi qc 4x4 sport. Do i like them...???.... yeah i`m ok with them, they clean up really easy, i never have to polish them like a real chrome wheel. And at 55 mph, other people lookin at them cant tell the difference if they`re real chrome or just skins...lol. I`m not a huge fan of aftermarket wheels... too many issues in the past with them, so i just stick to the stock chromies. I dont usually keep a vehicle much past its warranty period these days, so its not like i`m gonna wear the original wheels out, or even keep a vehicle to the point that they start corroding.

Michelin, very pricey BUT very well worth it...! And like "PullYa" says, the factory stock goodyear HP 20inch tires are just horrible. I just made it to around 30,000 miles with my stock HP`s this past fall and they were shot bigtime, all choppy and worn down to the treadbars. So now that spring has sprung, i`m tire shopping as well because i GOT to get these loud snowtires off... the noise is just driving me nuts...! (lol)

Regular size girls can use the nerf bars. I have them on mine and use them myself. I have a bad back and need to use them.
Yes, the plastic covers do clean up nice and you really cannot tell they are plastic unless you knock on them. I don't like them at all. Even though they look fine. It me I guess.
What is the issue with real chrome or polished Aluminum rims? They look better and I will feel better about them.

A long time ago American was the only one that put a clear coat on top of their wheels to prevent rust and discoloration. I'm not sure whether that is still true or not. I think if you take care and put polish on any wheel you should have any problem with rust or discoloration. Some of the fancy wheels look like they would be a nightmare to clean if you had to do it by hand--kinda like the old styled real wire wheels. Polishing every individual spoke wasn't much fun, I can tell you from experience. Now that they have all those fancy sprays and other cleaners you may just have to spray them and wash them off--I don't have any experience with those products.

Jay. I look for rims that are easy to clean for that very reason. I also remember cleaning spokes. Not easy at all. And no fun.
Also, cleaning the inside of the rim is important to me. So I am looking at rims that my hand fits easily into. The Ram is fairly easy, but I do get nicked up doing it. The sharp edges of the plastic cover is what will cut you. So I will make sure I can get my hand into the new rims to get the inside clean.
I am going to try the de-badging tomorrow. I will post the pictures when done.

Reading your comments about wheel size I thought I would throw my two cents in. When I bought my 2010 Ram it has 20" wheels from the factory and I had the dealership exchange them for some 17"s off another truck on the lot. The 17" tires were a lot cheaper at the time and there was a very limited number of decent off road tires available for the 20" wheels. The 17" wheels give a smoother ride too.

I met another Ram owner at the dealership that did the very same thing. He had them switch wheels to complete the transaction.
However, he did it because of the fake 20" rims. It looked fine. But it seems the wheel well would look a little empty with smaller wheels? It was long ago when I saw this guys truck. So I do not remember.
Got a picture and thanks for your input.

The tires are only about 1/2 smaller diameter than the tires on the 20" wheels so I don't find them to look too small. I have since upgraded the tires from the stock goodyear GS/A to BFG All terrain KOs and it looks pretty good. I will post a picture later as I don't have one at my disposal now.
