Default Trying to install viper 3203 in a 09 Dodge ram 1500 crew cab

Can anyone help a fellow dodge owner out. Ive had this alarm system for 5 months bought it new from best buy for 65 dollars.(marked wrong) They wanna charge me close to 400 dollars to install SIKE!!! Everywhere ive tried is expensive. I can find posts from every other make and model and YEAR except for mine. I do not have a remote start with it just the alarm and all the harness' to go with it. Ive seen diagrams for what wires go from the alarm to the vehicle but as ive said none for my 09 dodge. Can anyone help out?

Your brave man...Vipers are VERY picky, especially remote start (but you don't have that)...My recommendations, sell it and go compustar. They are a little less known, then viper but VERY easy to install, and they work seamlessly (of all the installations I have seen and helped out on). With the right harness that is. I will be installing whats called Drone(look it up if you are unsure) the only wiring that has to be done is the splicing between the drone module and the harness. The harness plugs directly into the truck and all you have to do is program it. Now this is a starter module, however because it just plugs into the truck directly it works along side the factory alarm system. I'm not 100% sure on new alarm installations, but im pretty sure its all plug and play.
Put it this way, compustar=android...viper=apple. Your paying for the name...

If you don't want to switch, your going to need to find a wiring chart (I forget what my buddy calls it) But its a chart that is only available to licensed dealers. So chances of that could be slim. I was told wiring diagrams for new vehicles (that still could be on warranty) are not being released to the public. Basically it prevents unauthorized miswiring and warranty problems. This does not however prevent dealers from uploading the diagrams, but it makes them more money so thats why they are so hard to find.

One other thing that I will say too, is if you find a 2010 or 2011 wiring diagram DO NOT use them. They could be a fraction different and cause problems.

I know i'm not too much help but if this was me thats what I would do...

Well, your going to need a canbus bypass module to control your door locks and factory passive alarm. So, because you need that, which is about $100, I'd opt for a remote start unit with alarm, rather than just alarm.

So, you'll need a bypass kit and that will make life super easy for the install. It makes hooking up a remote start/alarm simple. You will need to hook-up maybe 7 wires with it. You cannot do the install without one because the lock/unlock wires are all multiplexed(MPX)!
The DB-ALL will allow you to use factory OEM remotes to activate and deactivate your aftermarket alarm. It will allow future use of a remote start as well.
If you dont care about OEM remote use(crappy range anyways) or remote start use, the XK09 will be sufficient. http://www.xpresskit.com/VehicleComp...M&ps=1&s=0&c=0

12v-14ga yellow/red under left side of dash in blue(tow package) connector
ign-18ga pink/white at ignition switch
starter-same wire as ignition 1
horn-no horn wire just use siren
lights(-)-18 ga white at light switch-use 3k ohm resistor also 640 ohm resistor on same wire turns on headlight
LF Door-18ga.violet (-) in harness coming up from floor under left side of dash
RF Door-18 ga.violet/white at same
LR Door-18 ga.violet/gray at same
RR Door-18 ga. violet/yellow at same
Interior Lights-18 ga.yellow/white behind light switch at green connector (+)
Lock Switch-MPX
Unlock Switch-MPX

Hooking up to the wrong wire on these trucks can cause devastating issue's. I tried to bypass my HIDs from flashing when I lock/unlocked and when I clipped to the wrong wire, I burnt out my Instrument cluster. It was still part of the headlight circuit, but was on the wrong side of the circuit/switch assembly...Just a little warning to ya! Even if you know what your doing, it can be tricky and you have to pay close attention.
If you wanna pay $65 and get a $500 product there are risks. A new cluster cost me $321 and that was for me to install it. My alarm/starter essentially cost me $600 after that incident, basically what it would have cost if I paid an installer to do it.
