2011 Ram warning lights then stalls

Default 2011 Ram warning lights then stalls

My nephew has a 2011 1500 and after 6 months it's acting up. The ABS light, traction control, traction control off and brake light all come on and it dings. Sometimes the truck keeps going and other times it stalls. Then it won't even crank over for at least 20 mins. Yark in Toledo had it for 3 days and says they can't find anything wrong. That's possible it didn't do it for them but there is something wrong with it. I've search here for similar problems but don't see anything specifically like this. Anybody have any ideas?

It's probably a faulty TIPM, or maybe a loose connection. So I'd check the connections and even try unplugging the battery for at least 20 minutes and leave it disconnected and try that. But I'd venture to say bad TIPM or loose connection somewhere.

I had a simular incident with my '05 Ram (Which is simular to Mike's suggestion) stalling and losing power while driving. Found out one of the lock tabs was unlatched and slowly over time vibrated loss causing a glitch to the ECM.

My 09 did the same thing a few months back. Two days in the shop they determined that the Power Distribution Center(the fuse box under the hood) went out and had to be replaced. Mine stayed running, don't know how because nothing else was working, no power seats, mirrors, radio, ac, heat, cruise, headlights. Only thing that was working was the truck ran and the brake lights came on and off, and it shifted fine. The truck ran fine Sunday night and Monday morning when it was time to go to work it was acting up.

If the dealer cannot figure out what is wrong with the vehicle then I would suggest your nephew give a call to the Chrysler Customer Assistance Center and have them get a Chrysler tech involved to solve the issue. Numbers below.

Thanks for the feedback. So far the dealer has not been able to duplicate the situation. They have had the truck for 10 or 12 days. However, after my nephew gets it back it has stalled for both he and his wife. Chrysler is at the point of not wanting to do anything until they can duplicate the problem. Understandable. And they are telling him not to drive it. but have not offered another truck to drive.

Busch,

Who is telling him not to drive the truck? Did your nephew talk to Chrysler directly and get a case opened on the issue?

I don't want to get into a he said they said too much because I am getting second hand info. But I will ask speciifically. I am sure he said the contract he made at Chrysler told him they didn't want him driving the truck. My intent originally here was to seek out some help if someone had encountered the same problem.

Use a video camera everytime you start your truck or when this happens. Get it on tape so you can show the Dealer.

Ofcourse they wont do anything if they can't replicate it. They need their little Starscan tool to tell them the problem because there are no Automotive technicans that have Electrical Engineering degrees, so they need the scanner tool to tell them the problem because they can't diagnose it themselves.
You really need a Mechanic degree/experience along with an Electrical Engineer degree to diagnose these newer vehicles without the aid of a scan tool.
Mechanic Techs suck *** at diagnosing these newer vehicles. Without a code for their tool to read and tell them exactly what to do...Their clueless. Makes bringing them to the dealer pointless.
