Default 2012 ram shudder

I have a 2012 Ram with 614 miles it has a shudder on part throttle in drive and in reverse. brought it to the dealer and was given the answer that, "It is characteristic by design." Is there anyone having the same issue? Please let me know.

I don't have a 2012 or that problem but with that happening and if you feel it's not right I would tell the dealer to look into it or you will contact dodge directly

A lot of dealers just jerk you around and find excuses

Ya I would because if it don't feel right then it's probly not and for as new as your truck is there shouldn't be a slight problem anywhere but I can see a dealer probly telling you it's in the breaking in period which it might be but still have it looked at but if it continues much longer I would start contacting dodge directly if the 2nd dealer gives you same explanation

Also make a thread in 4th Gen area and see what they say, they would have trucks closer to the year of yours and may be experiencing same problems

Ramfam,

I agree that if you don't think it is right then it isn't right. If the dealer is not helping you with the problem then I suggest you contact Chrysler Customer Assistance and get them involved in solving the issue. Numbers below.

hey i can help you there. bought a 2012 ram with onl 35 miles on it. i notice it until i got to 800 miles. its just breaking in. open up your owners manual and follow the break in procedure. you got to tell your truck what you want it to do cause its going to drive like a baby if you baby it. ok got something else to add to your list of worries. turn your ready down open your door. start the truck up and put it in reverse and tell me what you here. i got that check out to they said it normal.

It's not as much of a shudder it's like your over fueling the motor when mds is activated cause that's only when I felt mines. Trying to push the gas down to deactivate and it seems like it takes more than enough time for all eight to kit in. Replacing my stock muffler and working all the function on my truck (manual shifting, tow/haul, wot) to break in my disappeared around 800 miles.

I can definitely feel it when mds/eco kicks in and out. It feels like a very slight vibration throughout the truck. Passengers state they can't feel it. However, the mds/eco vibration doesn't seem to happen like the OP describes, at partial throttle in forward or reverse. I never saw mds/eco engage in reverse either.
