Default Windshield washer jet

Just had the passenger side windshield washer jet fail on my 09 Ram with 36000 miles, in the middle of a 400 mile road trip. Further inspection reveals the molded jet has actually become brittle, and sheared off. Not what I expect from a $40k truck !
Anyone else had this happen, or am I just unlucky ?

Its a small plastic part - stuff happens. Makes me laugh when people say "its a 40K truck". Its a washer jet, not an integral part of why the truck costs 40K.

If the plastic wasn't so cheap, or maybe it was made out of metal, it wouldn't have hardened, broken, and caused a hazzard. Guess you're one of these people who defend the 'US' car companies regardless. No wonder they filed for bancruptcy , it's a case of designing down to a price, and not caring about the longevity ............laugh all you want, until you're a victim of it !

I know what you mean. The nozzle pushed out of the socket one day when i pressed the washer button and it landed on the hood.Had them both replaced shortly after. Not really a big issue, but the little things will bother me.As long as the parts/labor remain free,I won't lose any sleep over it.

News flash!

They're all made of friggin cheap plastic now, no matter what brand, sucks but part of life in the global economy in which China makes just about everything and we sold our manufacturing base over the years and then our souls to the obamination, no I voted for the other guy, and yes we got change, barely in our pockets with prices higher today than 4 years ago, sorry to hijack, broken jet sucks but sure it happens, sorry it happened to you.

Yes they have, heat just causes expansion of the housing, allowing the nozzle to be loose, therefore ejecting itself under pressure.
